Course Description: |

This class will teach students the fundamentals of basic programming. Students learn Cartesian Coordinate Systems, G codes, basic M codes, word address, canned cycles, cutter radius compensation, and sub programs. Participants will be given many different examples, as well as write many programs. Safety lines and technique will also be taught. This course is applicable for the Fanuc OT, OM, 15T, 15M, 16T, 16M, 16i, 18i, 21. |

Participants should have a good basic knowledge of machining practices. |

Identifying X, Y and Z axes on a machine tool
Using a Cartesian coordinate system
Calculating speeds and feeds from manufacturers specifications
Using absolute positioning methods
Using incremental positioning methods
Identifying part zero
Understanding program format and technique
Using positioning and feed "G" codes
Circular interpolation
Using tool length compensation
Using cutter radius compensation
Using drill cycles, boring cycles, tapping cycles, canned cycles and threading cycles
Identifying and using sub routines
Writing and editing basic programs |
